Monday, Nov. 15, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Mike Quill (19) 43pts

2nd Brad Sproxton (12) 39pts

3rd Brian Wilkinson (15) 38pts

4th John Bahng (12) 36pts

Seven groups started play today with expectations that the greens were improving, and judging by the scores things are looking better.

Mike Quill went out in 23 points to take an insurmountable lead but it was reported that there were over 5 occasions where favorable ricochets from various stationary objects played a role in his fine 43 points.  Sproxton, Wilko and Bahng were all playing in the same group and each had to hand over some nosh to Mick Beresford playing his first round in a month.  Thanks to all for joining us today.

Near Pins: (A3) John Emmerson

A great turnout of 10 groups today allowed us to have 2 divisions and there were some great scores.  We played the C & A combination off of the yellow tees, but unfortunately the yellows were on the whites, hence the aforementioned great scores.

The A flight was taken by Sonny Glodsbury with 38 points after a fine display of chipping and putting.  Noel Pittard had 37 with a back nine of 18 and a back six of 11 to take out Rusty Barfield on count-back.  Rusty had a back six of 10 to take out John McQ.  There were no less than six others that were on 36 points.

The second flight had a runaway winner in the form of “The Van Queen” Marlene Prudden who scored an amazing 45 points.  Marlene was six clear of second placed Bobby Love Allen who edged Dan “Avon Calling” on count-back with a better back nine of 18 to 14.  The “Best Dressed Pink Panther” Mick Beresford took fourth.

John Emmerson had the shot of the day on A3, narrowly missing an ace to take the near pin prize.  Cheers and chilly beers to all that entered today.  Keep an eye on the signup sheets for our next away trip to Kabin Buri.
