There were 41 players out today and a few complaints after the round regarding the sanded greens, but with the current price of the green fee the majority will be returning here next month.

The equal cut today in the scorecards was 0-16 in division 1, 17-20 in division 2 and 21 plus in division 3. Playing off 10 now Peter Pedder took out division 1 with 35 points and there were three players in contention for second place, all with 33 points; Billy Hewitt lost out with 14 on the back nine as Bill Bertram came in second with 20 and Frank Kelly was third with 19 on the back nine.

Carl Lovatt won division 2 with 40 points; with William Chang in second place three points behind and Burnie Sinclair taking third with 36.

In division three there were 3 players in with 34 points; Ray Underwood won it with 20 on the back nine, Fred Duffy was second with 19 and Ali Dukony took third with 18.

Raivo Velsberg birdied the 17th to take the ‘2’s competition in division 1 while there were three in division 2 from Carl Lovatt (x2) and Valentina Hiller.

Near pins went to Billy Hewitt, Peter Pedder, Dennis Scougal,  Chris Voller, Fred Duffy, Valentina Hiller, Carl Lovatt and Cully Monks.

Wednesday, Nov. 17, The Emerald – Stableford

Another nine groups out today and a similar cut to Monday’s in the three divisions.

Playing off scratch Gert Velsberg shot a 71 to win division 1 with 37 points.  Chaten Patel was second one point behind and Tony Barritt came in third won 34 points.

Count-back Burnie won division 2 with 34 points, beating arch rival William Chang 20/19 on the back nine who in turn beat the welsh boy Mike Lewis 11/10 on the back six.

Thirty-two points won division 3 for Joe kubon while Jef Uffelen was second  with 30 and in third place on 29 was Leo Hagen.

Chaten Patel and Gert Velsberg shared the ‘2’s in division 1 and William Chang was the only winner in division 2.

Near pins were claimed by Chaten Patel, Gert Velsberg (x3), Paul Chabot, William Chang, Bryan Kelly and Terry Redding.

Friday, Nov. 19, Eastern Star – Stableford

Another sweltering day with no breeze whatsoever and our tee time was slightly altered overnight to accommodate a packed course.

Kasuo Takimoto’s 40 points won division 1, with Gary Barling in second place on 35 after beating Chris Voller on count-back  who also put Pete Sumner out of the reckoning.

Joe Peters took out division 2 with 36 points and Ben O’Neil was second, beating Les Smith 19/18 on count-back after they both scored 35 points.

With his best round ever, Marty Aronson won the third division with 42 points while Fred Duffy was second, beating Peter Grant on a 20/17 count-back after both shot 35 points.

Terasa Connolly scored 33 points to win the ladies division.

Kasuo got the only ‘2’ in division 1 with Mike Lewis and Leo Van Hagen sharing division 2.

Near pins were picked up by Miss Nut, Mikael Andersson, Kasuo Takimoto (2), Chris Voller, Alan Duckett, Mike Lewis and Les Smith (2).
