Sunday, May 7, Green Valley – Stableford
1st Peter Wallace (23) 37pts
2nd Donal McGuigan (18) 36pts
3rd Joe Peters (21) 33pts
A small group out again today here at Green Valley but still some good golf on what was a very hot day for golf.
Peter Wallace had his first ever outright win with us and he did it by beating his handicap and scoring thirty seven points. Donal McGuigan played to his handicap and came second while Joe Peters took the third and last podium place with thirty three. We had no ‘2’s today.
Tuesday, May 9, Crystal Bay – Stableford
1st Craig Hitchens (15) 36pts
2nd Joe McArdle (16) 32pts
3rd Joe Peters (21) 31pts
We were joined by our friends from the PFGS today for what turned out to be a very nice day for golf here at Crystal Bay. It was not too hot and just one short shower of rain helped to cool it down even more.
Today we played the B and C courses off the longer white tees and found the course to be in very good condition. Craig Hitchens was the winner again today with a level handicap round of thirty six points while Joe McArdle was back in action again today after a spell off golf and came a distant second with thirty two. Joe Peters took the third and last place with thirty one points and again today we had no ‘2’s.
Thursday, May 11, Burapha – Stableford
1st Mark Lang (6) 40pts
2nd Jon Batty (7) 39pts
3rd Hal Hart (18) 37pts
4th John Fenwick (19) 37pts
Back at Burapha today where we all played off the white tees on the A and B courses. Another nice day for golf and although it looked very much like rain a few times it didn’t come and we all got finished dry.
Some very good golf today and if you didn’t beat your handicap you weren’t in the prizes. Mark Lang went around in two over par gross to score forty points off his six-handicap and came out the winner. Jon Batty also played very well and gave Mark a good battle to come second with thirty nine, but Jon had the consolation of having the only ‘2’ of the day which meant that he went home with the most money.
Hal Hart, who was our winner here last week and lost two shots off his handicap for his good score, played very well again today and came third with a very respectable thirty seven points. John Fenwick also had thirty seven but he lost out on the count back to Hal and had to settle for the fourth and last place.
