It was back to our home golf club today on a very nice warm day to play a stableford comp.  Mark Watkins took the top spot on the five man podium as he cruised round with a best on the day 38 points, even though the course was playing about as hard as it could.

Eddy ‘the Eagle’ Beilby claimed the second step on the podium ahead of Jim Knight, both with even par rounds but with Eddy having the more favorable back nine.  Jim ‘AK47’ Bell took the fourth step on the podium but he had to have a strong back nine to edge Howard Bland on another count back.

Bill Peach had the only rollover 2 to go with his near pin prize.

Friday, Dec. 15,
The Emerald – Stableford

1st Tony Oakes (14) 41pts

2nd Billy Eyles (22) 40pts

3rd Keith Warboys (18) 38pts

4th Mark Watkins (20) 33pts

Near Pins: No 7 Tony Oakes, No 15 Keith Warboys.

The popularity of this course never diminishes for some reason although we did have some of our regulars opt to play the absent friends comp with the Billabong bar.

Tony Oakes was the star of the show; as he has been round this course many times before, with today’s top score of 41 blistering points.  Tony was chased all the way by Billy ‘the hat’ Eyles who carded a fine 40 points.  Keith Warboys filled the third podium spot with a solid 38 points, as Mark Watkins made it two podium finishes this week.
