PSC Golf from the Ferdinand Golf Society

Monday, Jan. 26, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford

Just a short drive to the golf course where we found it very busy, but we were still able to get away just a few minutes later than out scheduled 10.30 am tee time.  The weather was great, not too hot with very little wind but the course was still a bit ordinary with the greens quite erratic at times.  Nonetheless it was an enjoyable day although a slow one, with many golfers ahead probably not up to quick golf etiquette and our round was completed in four hours and forty minutes.

It was tight at the top with two golfers on 37 points and the resultant count back saw Mark West (16 point back nine & 11 points on the last 6 holes) declared the winner from Freddy Starbeck (16 point back nine & 9 points on the last 6 holes) in second spot.  In third place was Graham Parsonage with 35 points and veteran Ken Hole finished fourth with 32.

1st Mark West (15) 37pts

2nd Freddy Starbeck (13) 37pts

3rd Grahan Parsonage (9) 35pts

Thursday, Jan. 29, Pattavia – Stableford

There were just a few of us signed up and ready to tackle the Pattavia golf course and once again a later start time meant a bit of a sleep in for most.

Christian Boysen.Christian Boysen.

After the fifty five minute drive, which included traversing the much improved “pineapple boulevard”, we arrived at the course to find it practically deserted.  Our first group teed off about 20 minutes early with no other groups in sight ahead of us and we found the course in very good condition, with the greens much more “friendly” than has been recently reported by other golf societies.  The weather was once again terrific and we completed our round in three hours & forty five minutes.

Christian Boysen showed a welcome return to form and won the day with a fine 37 points, and your writer came a distant second with 31 but it was enough for me to “snatch” the Golfer of the Month award.

1st Christian Boysen (13) 37pts

2nd Peter Blackburn (14) 31pts
