Tuesday, April 12, Treasure Hill – Stableford
We went to Treasure Hill on Tuesday and were pleasantly surprised to find that the road works on the 331 have almost been finished.
The course was in good condition and it was a hot day with little bit a breeze. Willem Lasonder (H/cap 18) confirmed his form of the previous week and took the win with 42 points, a remarkable 10 ahead of second placed Jonathan Pratt (10) who had 32.
Nears pins went to Jonathan Pratt twice and Willem Lasonder.
Thursday, April 14, Rayong C.C. – Stableford
On the Thursday we drove to Rayong Country Club and it had been a long time ago since we last played here. The course was not in perfect condition, some places were too dry and others were over-watered. The tee-boxes were also very poor, perhaps the lawn mower was out for Songkran?
It was very quiet out on the course and Neil Harvey (H/cap 15), just returning from the UK, had a good first game back in the heat as he ended up with 35 points, but sadly for him beaten on the count back by Sam Gettinby (23).
The near pin awards went to Phill Waite and a triple to Jonathan Pratt.
Note: Siam Country Resort Pattaya, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 meters, with the venue on the left another 200 meters along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
