Bangpakong was the game today, up route 7 for 65 minutes, a swift check-in and off the first tee 15 minutes early into a very stiff southerly breeze and under sunny conditions for the whole round.

The course on the day was fine until you got to the greens where they are under severe renovation and 2 temps on 4 and 14. I would guess that it will be September before they are really playable again.
The first group was a 3-ball and made it around in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Back in the clubhouse a welcome back went to Graham Buckingham.
Daryl Evans was the winner with 36 points ahead of Andre van Dyk in second and Graham Buckingham third.
Thursday, June 12, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford

Pattaya Country Club was the challenge on Thursday and the club here now has vouchers for the low season, offering 10 for THB 5,000, so we got some and went off the first tee 40 minutes early with a nice breeze and cooler conditions than in recent weeks.
The course condition was ok for the price we paid; there are 2 different sets of greens and it all seemed a little scruffy, the reason probably being that we saw less than a dozen greens staff to maintain the whole complex.
The round took just 4 hours and back in the clubhouse a welcome went out to Kevin Tikla from Perth and a goodbye to Tony Lecce.
Mike Winfield was the winner by a country mile with a fine 36 points, ahead of Marie Rowles in second some 8 points behind, and Dave Richardson and Tony Lecce took third and fourth respectively.
