PSC Golf from Mulligans Lakeside

Tuesday, Jan. 25, Plutaluang – Stableford

Tuesday was a visit to Plutaluang, where the North & West combination was to be our test.  Indeed a test it was, with good scores thin on the ground, partly due to participant’s ability and contributed to by the course conditions.  The greens were back to the longer, grainier grass, so putts were at a premium.  These greens ruin any “stroke” one may have, as it requires a “hit” to get it to the hole.  Having said that, it is the same for everyone, so get on with it!

Frans Olgers (21) came to grips with the conditions best, recording a solid 33 points for first place.  Next best was the scribe, Jeff Wylie (6), with an unspectacular 31 points (36 putts, damn), and filling the final podium position was Graham Hiskett (16) with 30 points.

The previous week’s big winner, Tony Chetland, celebrates with Ken Hole, the winner at Greenwood this past week. The previous week’s big winner, Tony Chetland, celebrates with Ken Hole, the winner at Greenwood this past week.

Near pins were picked up by Ian, Jeff, Ken & Tony.

Thursday, Jan. 27, Greenwood – Stableford

Thursday was Greenwood’s turn to host our group, with the C & B combination our test de jour.  Unfortunately, we had a car breakdown which reduced numbers, but still had enough to provide a day’s competition.

Ken Hole (16) showed some return to form with 36 points, while Jeff Wylie (6) 34 points maintained his consistency of late to complete the prize rundown.

Near pins proved to be too much of a battle today with only Bob Edwards scoring on the short C6, while the others were not hit, resulting of course in donations to the Banglamung Boys Home.

Note:  Mulligans Lakeside plays golf generally on Tuesday & Thursday (we sometimes change to accommodate a Thai Holiday).  Presentations are made at the course on Tuesday, with Mulligans Lakeside hosting the Thursday presentation.  For more details on scheduling etc, please call 089 094 1841 or 081 935 8088.  Hope to see you there, Cheers & Good Golfing!
