Monday, Dec. 10, Green Valley (White tees)– Stableford

1st Keith Worboys (15) 41pts

T2nd Martin Zimmerman (14) 40pts

T2nd Peter LeNoury (10) 40pts

4th Ken Aihara (5) 36pts

We woke up to a beautiful morning here in Pattaya and a full card of players for today’s competition.  Green Valley was the venue once again and the course was in tip top condition, as it has been for the last several months.

Keith Worboys has been in fine form of late and his fair handicap of 15 gave him no advantage on the field today.  Keith was draining one putt after another and had “one of those days” that keeps us coming back to this frustrating but mesmerizing game we torment ourselves with.  The previous week we had winners with just 28 points, my how fortunes change so quickly!  Those were 41 well earned points Keith, have John buy you a cigar, buddy!

Martin Z-Man and Peter LeNoury were right on Keith’s butt with 40 points each; good enough for a win on most days but only good for second today.  Steady Ken (on the fairway) Aihara took the last spot on the podium with his handicap equaling 36 points for a great round of golf once again.

Wednesday, Dec. 12, Pleasant Valley (White tees) – Stableford

1st Pierre Cere (11) 37pts

T2nd Marlene Prudden (24) 36pts

T2nd Ian Smith (8) 36pts

T2nd Stuart Melrose (1) 36pts

12/12/12 was upon us and this auspicious date found us with 22 golfers heading out to Pleasant Valley today.  Phil was armed with a fistful of PSC vouchers and at only 700 baht for green fees, this is one of the best values for the high season in Pattaya.

Pierre Cere- à votre santé! Pierre Cere- à votre santé!

Pleasant Valley has golfers divided on whether this is a worthy course for inclusion on our play list.  Like Silky Oaks (and Vegemite), you either love it or hate it.  It seems that for both courses, the more you play it the more you like it, so we will be back here to play as the popularity of the course grows over time as well as the maturity of the grounds.  It is starting to get lush out here!

I would think that Pierre Cere would be quite happy to return to P.V.!  A great 37 points for his first time to play Pleasant Valley sits well in one’s memory banks.  Even Queenie came good today, as the inspiring Marlene Prudden had a great day on the course with her 36.  That was also the score for visitors Ian Smith and Stuart Melrose, who plays off 1!
