Pattaya youngsters vied for 30,000 baht in prize money at the Palladium Cup Youth Football Tournament recently.

Pairat Chumpol, technical director of for the Thai national football team, handed out prizes at the June 10 tournament for kids ages 11-13 at the Palladium football field on Soi Khopai. The cash prizes were sponsored by the Pocari Sweat energy drink, Wittaya Laohakul and Chalermwith Sangapol.

The tournament aimed to encourage kids to use their spare time playing sports and avoiding drugs.

The single-elimination tourney was split into brackets for kids ages 11, 12 and 13. Each top team took home 5,000 baht.

Palladium bested Navy 3-1 for the 13-year-old championship. Champion beat Navy Juniors in the 12-year-old bracket 1-0. And St. Louis beat Baan Tungkor on penalty shots 5-4 among 11-year-olds.
