YWCA to hold charity walk-run event this weekend

The local branch of the YWCA, in co-operation with Pattaya City Hall held a press conference on June 12 to announce a special beach walk-run along Pattaya beach to help raise funds for local children’s and women’s charities.

The race will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, in front of Central Pattaya Beach shopping mall, passing the Amari Pattaya Hotel before returning to the start/finish point at the mall.  City Hall has asked for the co-operation of beach chair vendors in the area to ensure that the beach area involved is cleared prior to the race taking place.

At 7.00 p.m. all the athletes will gather for the trophy presentation where the  HRH Princess Soamsavali Cup will be awarded to the winner, following which there will be fun activities for children and women sponsored by the YWCA Club, including a mini concert of singers from The Star.

All money raised from this event will be used to support activities and projects that help disadvantaged children and women, such as the Loving and Supportive Family Project that provides scholarships to underprivileged students and assists children with special-needs.
