Skål International Chiang Mai president Annette Kunigagon is presented with a Membership Development Certificate on behalf of her club, by Skål International Thailand president Andrew J Wood (third from right). The certificate recognises Annette’s remarkable efforts in recruiting new Skål members in Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand (more than 10% in the past 12 months), leading her dedicated volunteers that make up the Chiang Mai club’s executives. The presentation took place during the half-yearly meeting of the Skål Thailand executive committee held in Chiang Mai recently. John Haddon and Margaret Kregor waded through a sea of boxes and furniture whilst we were still moving into our new offices to place a few classified ads. Asked how they found the new location, the ever so charming Margaret said, “We read the Pattaya Mail with a passion and we saw the announcement with a very clear and precise map. The Pattaya Mail is our one and only favourite newspaper in Thailand.” Tony, Bow and Poo were thrilled to bits so they decided to give them bonus ads for being the first at our new premises.

Neoh Kean Boon (left), resident manager of Dusit Thani Pattaya and Arum Chaisomsri (2nd right), training manager are joined by the hotel management and Dusit International management trainees who recently paid a visit to the resort as well as the dusit d2 property for inspection and familiarization of the city. Hotel GM Chatchawal Supachayanont gave them a pep talk for encouragement and understanding of hotel management perspectives. The management trainees are composed of university graduates with a bachelor’s degree and some are Dusit employees who decided to enter the program to study among others, the integration of theories, operational principles and practices into project presentation to the corporate executives’ level.

H.E. James Wise, Australian Ambassador to Thailand was guest of honour at the annual “Melbourne Cup 2012” charity event held at the Amari Watergate Bangkok recently. The affair organized by the Australian and New Zealand Woman’s Group (ANZWG) under the leadership of President Anne Sidwell, raised funds to support the Northern Mobile Dental Clinic based at Mae Sariang Hospital under the Smiles on Wings Project. Pol. Col. Wilawan Pitawaranon, Deputy Commander of the Immigration Division Bangkok led a team of 50 officers on a visit to the Father Ray Foundation recently where they were welcomed by Prathum Sukhkerd, manager of corporate and development and Udomchoke Churat, Director of Redemptorist Vocational School respectively. On this eventful visit, the visitors donated 80,000 baht towards the welfare of the more than 850 physically challenged students at the school.

Regular Dutch visitors to Pattaya Gerwin Storcken (left) and Martin Roebroek (right) always make sure they have time to visit the Father Ray Foundation to present a donation on behalf of the customers of the Café de Bar in the Dutch town of Buchten. Brother Denis Gervais, Vice President of the Father Ray Foundation, was on hand to meet the visitors and accept the donation on behalf of the 850 children and students being supported by Pattaya’s largest charitable organization.
