The Sanctuary of Truth honored the memory of HM King Rama IX with a five-religion ceremony for the late monarch’s birthday.

The Naklua sanctuary’s Thammasak Rattanatanya opened the Dec. 9 event, which began early with the offering of alms to 600 monks and novices.

He lit candles and incense that were placed before a portrait of HM the late King Bhumibol before inviting Puttajan, abbot of Trimitwittaya Ramworawihan Temple, to receiving robes and other monks’ necessities.

At 11 a.m., similar ceremonies began to honor the late king for his Dec. 5 birthday, with clerics leading Brahman, Hindu, Roman Catholic, Sikh and Islam services, all carrying the theme of “carrying on Father’s teachings for peace”. (PCPR)
