NAKHON NAYOK – The prolonged forest fires in Nakhon Nayok have prompted the Royal Thai Army to send more firefighters to the province.
Col Sirichan Ngathong, deputy spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army, said the forest fire prevention center in Nakhon Nayok is working around the clock to extinguish forest fires which started late last month.
She said 120 additional firefighters had been deployed in the area whereas fires in some parts of the forest had been extinguished. Furthermore, fires which broke out at Mount Farami and Mount Lamduan are now under control.
Other measures are being taken to put out fires at other locations while local authorities are now considering aerial firefighting.
