14-year-old shoots and kills senior over flirting his girlfriend on social media

LOPBURI, Thailand – A 14-year-old boy in Lopburi shot and killed a 16-year-old senior out of jealousy, believing the victim was trying to flirt with his girlfriend on August 24. The assailant, accompanied by his girlfriend on a motorcycle, shot the senior while riding past him, causing the victim to die on the spot before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on a road near the Ban Nong Krathum intersection in Maha Phot subdistrict, Saraburi District, Lopburi.



Police and forensic officers from the Sra Bote Police Station arrived at the scene, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his chest. Witnesses stated that they were out riding motorcycles together when two people on another motorcycle approached them. The gunman sitting in the back seat pulled out a firearm and shot the victim, causing their motorcycle to crash. Despite attempts to rush the victim to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries before they could arrive.

The shooter later surrendered to the police, accompanied by his relatives. During the investigation, it was revealed that the shooter used a homemade .38 caliber gun and was driven by intense jealousy, as the victim frequently messaged the shooter’s girlfriend on social media. After the shooting, the shooter hid the gun at home and fled the scene. The case is now under further investigation. (TNA)
