BANGKOK, 13 September 2011 -Basic Education Commission Secretary-General Chinapat Pumirat said floods had left 635 schools submerged, 3 students killed and one injured. The damage could cost more than 140 million THB in rehabilitation.
Among all the schools affected by flood, 583 are primary and 52 are secondary schools. Despite the report of deaths and injury of students, no teachers have been hurt in the disaster. However, the BEC has proposed for a budget from the flood relief fund to help the families of the dead and injured.
