NONTHABURI, Thailand – A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed during an altercation at an intersection, succumbing to his injuries after emergency responders attempted to save his life.
The incident, which took place at around 6:00 PM on August 30, was captured on video. The footage shows two teenagers attacking their rival in an alley, kicking, punching, and eventually stabbing him. The entire confrontation lasted nearly two minutes before the attackers fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Local police from the Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station were alerted to the stabbing in Soi Phibulsongkhram 22, Intersection 24, Bang Khen Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. Upon arrival, they found rescue workers performing CPR on the victim before rushing him to Phra Nang Klao Hospital.
According to a witness, Danai, a 43-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, the victim had been riding a motorcycle with two friends. The attackers, who were also riding a motorcycle, exchanged insults with the victim as they approached the intersection. The victim then stopped his motorcycle and ran towards his assailants, leading to a physical altercation in which he was overpowered, beaten, and eventually left unconscious at the intersection. The attackers then fled the scene.
At approximately 8:30 PM, the Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station was informed by Phra Nang Klao Hospital that the victim, identified as 17-year-old Peerawit, had died from his injuries. He had sustained a fatal stab wound to the left side of his chest, near the ribs.
Ms. Supapatchaya, the victim’s 41-year-old mother, recounted that she was at work around 5:00 PM when her mother called to inform her that her son had been assaulted. Initially, she thought it was not serious, but later received a call from the hospital informing her that her son’s condition had deteriorated significantly due to the stab wound, which had caused critical damage to his brain and other vital organs. Devastated by the news, she expressed her deep sorrow and called for the assailants to consider the pain they have caused her family, urging them not to resort to such extreme violence over conflicts.
