BANGKOK, 13 June 2013 The Transport Ministry in cooperation with British organizers of international goods exhibitions will hold Thailand’s first exhibition on locomotive technology and innovations in a bid to push the nation as transportation hub in Asia.

The exhibition, dubbed Exporail Southeast Asia Thailand 2014, will be held from March 12-14, 2014 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center in Bang-Na district. The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) which are state enterprises under the Transport Ministry will actively work with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) to ensure smooth holding of the fair.

MRTA Governor Yongsit Rojanasrikul stated the event will highlight goods and services on modern locomotive rails, equipment, and engines including those of high-speed trains. It will be participated by more than 345 booths featuring new exciting technologies from such countries as Germany, Spain, and Japan.

Mr. Yongsit added that the fair will present a good opportunity for Thai locomotive agencies to meet potential foreign consultants who may be recruited to help plan the country’s future rail infrastructure, services and management.
