Two Trang men were arrested last Saturday with 479 fake watches they intended to sell to tourists at up to a 700 percent profit.
Prapat Sainai, 40, and Sakchai Pungen, 21, were taken into custody in their apartment on Soi Paniedchang. Their stock of fakes included knock-off Rolex, Omega and Rado watches.
Prapat confessed he’d purchased the lot from an agent at a market next to Mini Siam on Sukhumvit Road for 200 baht each. He said he resold them for up to 1,500 baht each.
Both men were charged with producing, duplicating and selling counterfeit goods.
Prapat Sainai and Sakchai Pungen, seated, are held for questioning at Pattaya Police Station.
