BANGKOK, 11 October 2013 Social Development and Human Security Minister Paveena Hongsakul is disbursing a budget of 20 million baht for repairs of homes of handicapped people who have been victims of the nationwide flooding.
Mrs. Paveena on Thursday announced the budget for the homes of 140,000 handicapped people in 27 provinces. Officials of the Social Development and Human Security Ministry will compile data about the damage to the homes, in order to allow payouts to the afflicted handicapped. However, each home is entitled to no more than 20,000 baht of repair allowance.
The ministry has also produced manuals on how the handicapped, their families and volunteers could act appropriately in times of flooding. Contents include proper procedures in assisting handicapped persons before and after floods.
