Bangkok – The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) says 26 provinces across the country have been affected by tropical storm conditions.

According to the DDPM, more than 2,242 homes in 26 provinces have been damaged by the current stormy weather. The DDPM has coordinated with local military units in affected provinces to assist storm victims since an earlier storm made landfall on April 23.

Provinces in the North, North East, South and Central Plains including Bangkok and its vicinity have also been warned to prepare for another storm expected to affect the region until April 28. Local authorities are on standby to provide emergency assistance to those in need around the clock.

In Nong Khai province, soldiers from the Peace and Order Maintaining Command have been deployed to distribute relief bags and food items to 176 affected families in Kong Nang district. The total number of homes damaged by the tropical storm in Nong Khai has now risen to 276 including one temple.
