AYUTTHAYA, 19 August 2012 – Thailand’s ancient capital of Ayutthaya has been celebrating more than 3 centuries of the country’s good relations with France.
Ayutthaya Governor Wittaya Phewpong said on Sunday that the province has planned to hold a big celebration to commemorate 327 years of good relations between Thailand and France.
Mr. Wittaya said that the event is set to take place during August 24th-26th, at the province’s old City Hall.
He added that the highlights of the celebration are the revisiting to a beautiful and cool Paris with the infusion of Thainess from the era of Ayutthaya, a Lido performance and a Moulin-Rouge show, joined by world-leading actors.
He said that France’s landmark monuments, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, will be recreated for photograph opportunities, while fake snow will also be created to make the experience more impressive.
The Ayutthaya Governor added that a special concert by one of Thailand’s country singers and a number of traditional musical performances as well as a variety of Thai foods will be showcased throughout the event.
