BANGKOK, 28 March 2011 (NNT) – The 32nd Bangkok International Motor Show is reportedly lively with over 300,000 visitors flocking to see displays of progressive innovation in the automotive industry in the first three days of the event.
According to Event Organizer Chairperson Dr Prachin Eiam-lamnao, about 100,000 enthusiasts are visiting the event each day, and the total number of visitors in the first three days has surpassed 300,000 people, up 10-15% from the same period last year.
The number of visitors is expected to be higher during weekdays after the event has changed the venue from the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) to Muang Thong Thani exhibition complex, which is closer to the Bangkok city area.
The total number of visitors throughout the event, from 25 March to 5 April, is projected to be about 10% higher than last year’s figure of 1.7 million people.
Sales of vehicles in the first three days are still inconclusive; however, about 27,000-28,000 cars are expected to be sold throughout the event, particularly small and eco-cars as well as pickup trucks, which remain popular with the highest reservation rate.
