Lampang – Tremors were felt in many areas in the North early on Thursday morning after a 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit Wang Nuea District in Lampang, centered 2 kilometers underground.
The Meteorological Department said the earthquake happened at 12:04am, with tremors felt in Lampang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Phayao. It was believed to be caused by a tectonic fault line passing through Phayao, Lampang and Chiang Rai.
An additional 12 tremors followed, ranging between 1.3-2.7 magnitudes, with the last occurring at 10:47am the same day.
