7 of Thailand’s marine national parks earn global recognition

The certificates reinforce the marine national parks’ commitment to maintaining their natural beauty while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.

BANGKOK, Thailand – According to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation (DNP), seven marine national parks in Thailand have been awarded the ISO 13009:2015 certification for beach operators that meet international standards regarding sustainable management, beach ownership, sustainable infrastructure, and service provision needs for tourists, including beach safety, information and communication, cleaning, and waste removal.



The seven marine national parks include the following:

  1. Than Bok Korani National Park for Ko Hong;
  2. Ao Phang Nga National Park for Ko Lawa Yai;
  3. Khao Lampi – Hat Thai Mueang National Park for Thai Mueang Beach;
  4. Mu Ko Similan National Park for Ko Si;
  5. Khaolak – Lamru National Park for Hat Lek Beach;
  6. Mu Ko Surin National Park for Mai Ngam Beach;
  7. Hat Nopparat Thara – Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park for Maya Bay.
