9th Bangsaen Thailand Speed Festival 2015 to kick off in November this year

CHONBURI -The 9th Bangsaen Thailand Speed Festival 2015 is expected to generate 100 million baht in revenue for Chonburi province.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Sports Authority of Thailand, Chonburi Province and Sansook Municipality have jointly held a press conference at the Tide Resort about the festival, which will begin from November 24th – 29th. 

Former Culture Minister Sonthaya Khunpluem and representatives from the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage and other promoters of the event have also attended the press conference.

Mr. Sontaya said the festival for the past 8 years has generated in hundreds of million each year for Chonburi province.

Every year automakers from various nations around the world send their products to compete in the race, attracting at least 200,000 spectators each year. However, the number of auto enthusiasts is expected to top 500,000 this year, said the former minister.

In addition, a cycling competition will this year be included in the competition for the first time.

The cooperation among the various agencies is also aimed at making Motorsports in Thailand more internationally acceptable. Roads passing tourist sites in Chonburi will serve as the 3.7-kilometer long race track during the event.
