A major drug trafficking gang of the East busted

Narcotics police have announced the arrest of an alleged major drug trafficker of the East and four of her men together with the seizure of 200,000 tablets of methamphetamine.

Pol Lt-Gen Raewat Klinkaesorn, commissioner of the narcotic suppression bureau, told a press conference that the gang led by Mrs Chanyaporn Khunnan, alias Jae Pom, was apprenhended in Chachoengsao province in a sting operation.

Posing as buyers for 200,000 ya baa tablets at 7.5 million baht, the undercover policemen waited at a rendezvous in front of a mall in Chachoengsao where the drug was to be delivered and money changed hands.

When the gang showed up with the drug, the policemen then rushed in to make the arrest.

Pol Lt-Gen Raewat said that the gang received the ya baa from Lt-Col Yeesee network in northern Thailand.
