BANGKOK, Aug 5 – Over 10 explosive devices and one rifle were found hidden in a suitcase on a Nakhon Ratchasima-Bangkok bus in Bangkok’s Mo Chit 2 bus terminal.

The area was cordoned off for bomb squads to defuse them.

Three M-26, two M-61, two M-67 grenades, four M-14 anti-personnel mines, an AK-47 rifle and 250 rounds of ammunition were discovered in the suitcase after the police were tipped off about weapon smuggling into the capital by a bus.

Police inspected the suspicious bus at the Mo Chit 2 bus terminal and discovered the weapons.

No one claimed the luggage and no one was detained as the owner of the luggage.

Anong Deechantuek, the bus attendant said the person who deposited the luggage had cropped hair, with reddish tan complexion and was about 175 cm tall.

The police initially believed the weapons were bought from a neigbouring country at the border and were destined to be sold in Bangkok.
