BANGKOK, 18 December 2013 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing to organize absentee voting overseas for the next general elections in 2014.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sek Wannamethee stated in regard to the absentee voting for the next general elections. He said the Department of Consular Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the main body responsible for organizing and preparing the process, which will take place from January 13-26, 2014.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry has contacted all of the Thai embassies and consulates-general worldwide, and has dispatched necessary manuals and documents to promote better understanding of overseas Thais about the rules and regulations of the upcoming elections process.
All absentee ballots will be collected and returned to the Kingdom by January 30, 2014 in order to be sorted and dispatched to related provinces for vote counting.
