MYANMAR, 11 August 2014 –The Acting Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow is attending an ASEAN-USA meeting underway in Myanmar and has expressed gratitude that the USA supports ASEAN as a center of Asian affairs and is cooperating to cope with new threats.
In the meantime, Thailand’s representatives have attended several sub-meetings. The Director General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Arthayuth Srisamoot has attended meetings between ASEAN, the European Union (EU) and Canada. Also, Thailand’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN Suvat Chirapant, attended meetings with ASEAN-South Korea and ASEAN-Russia. ASEAN and dialogue partners have had wide ranging discussions on promoting peace, freedom and prosperity in the region.
