Agencies discuss aging society in Thailand

Bangkok – Chulalongkorn University and public health agencies held a seminar this week to discuss the future of Thailand as an aging society.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikulya inaugurated the event and called for all sectors to contribute to improving the quality of life for children and the elderly, in accordance with the country’s 20-year national strategy.

Participants discussed policies for low-fertility rates and case studies from other countries, a study of Thailand’s aging population, and a survey of attitudes towards having children.
