BANGKOK, 20 November 2013 SRT Electrified Train Company Limited (SRTET), operator of the Airport Rail Link, has made known that the number of passengers using the system in November is at a record high.

SRTET said on November 8, nearly 60,000 passengers boarded the Airport Rail Link. The figure set a new record for the company embattled by years of financial losses. From November 1-17, around 48,000 commuters used the train daily on average.

The company said the increased frequency of train arrivals on the City Line significantly contributed to the rise in passenger numbers.

SRTET plans to triple the current number of customers by procuring 7 more trains. In order to boost revenue, the company is also set to expand check-in services for air passengers at Makkasan Station of the Airport Rail Link next year.
