Police carried out blood tests on over 50 motorbike riders and found that 17 of them were over the limit.
8 were foreigners, 4 were Thai men and 5 were Thai women
All were transferred to the station for a fine and released later on.
Alcohol consumption during festive holidays in Thailand is obviously on a hike especially in tourist destinations like ours, so be careful when you know you have to drive because police are very serious about it this year, and a visit to the police station can be unpleasant interruption to your holiday.
