BANGKOK, Thailand – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) commemorated a truly special occasion on 5 December 2024, with a steam train tour from Bangkok to Chachoengsao, celebrating King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s birthday anniversary, National Day, and Father’s Day. Families and tourists enjoyed a nostalgic ride on historic Pacific steam locomotives No. 824 and No. 850, built post-World War II by Nippon Sharyo Co., Ltd.

This unforgettable journey is one of seven annual steam train events, offering a unique way to experience Thailand’s rich heritage. Missed today’s tour? Don’t worry! The next trip is scheduled for 26 March 2025 for Railway Founding Day, with a scenic route from Bangkok to Ayutthaya.
