The Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thapanee Kiatphaiboon, disclosed that Thailand accumulated an incredible 54.4 billion baht (US$1.6 billion) between December 22 and January 1. When compared with the revenue earned during the same period in the previous year, this amount represents a 44% rise. This increase is attributed by the TAT to the visa-free program and extended entertainment hours in many locations.
Another factor could be the colorful celebrations for the New Year 2024 in many parts of Thailand this year. Bangkok boasted some dazzling locations, particularly the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 Wichit Arun. Featuring the stunning landmark temple of Wat Arun, the Wichit Arun countdown was the scene of large-scale, magnificent fireworks and light and sound shows.
Thailand is hoping to emerge as a Global Countdown Destination, along with New York and Sydney, and the events this year will make it a strong contender, whether it be the Amazing Chiang Mai Countdown 2024 , the Korat Winter Festival & Countdown 2024, or the Awaken Khon Kaen Countdown 2024 in, not to mention the countdown events held in Nakhon Phanom, Roi Et, Suphan Buri, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phuket, and Songkhla.
