The public is being invited to enjoy ‘Amazing Thailand Countdown 2022’ events at one of five venues, where safety in public health will be elevated in accordance with the Covid Free Setting and SHA criteria.
Prime Minister’s Office deputy spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek said the government is publicizing the ‘Amazing Thailand Countdown 2022’ New Year’s event that is being organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The five venues where the event will take place are Ratchaphruek horticultural park in Chiang Mai, the provincial hall in Nakhon Ratchasima, Saeng Chan Beach in Rayong, Phra Ram Temple in Ayutthaya, and Saphan Hin Beach in Phuket. Visit times to these five venues are from 4 pm to 10 pm on December 27-30. On New Year’s Eve, visit times are from 4 pm to 30 minutes past midnight on the next day. Similar but smaller events will also be taking place in 44 other provinces.
Amazing Thailand Countdown 2022 will offer event goers cultural performances by local artists, musical performances by local musicians, and in some cases, performances by famed artists from abroad. Locally-made food items and goods will be sold, but alcoholic beverages will not be available for purchase. The venues will be decorated with lights and the highlight moment will be the lighting of New Year’s fireworks during the countdown activity.
About 15,000 visitors are expected at each of the venues throughout the event period. (NNT)
