Sudawan announced that certificates of appreciation will be awarded to each participating embassy and the EU delegation to recognize their contributions to preserving Thailand’s linguistic heritage and promoting cultural exchange.

Ambassadors from 21 countries, along with a representative from the European Union, have joined forces in a unique campaign to promote the Thai language. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture, the initiative is part of National Thai Language Day celebrations, observed annually on July 29.

The event features a special video with diplomats and embassy staff showcasing their proficiency in Thai by reciting poems and proverbs, reflecting Thailand’s cultural and linguistic heritage.

The effort is inspired by the values articulated in a royal speech by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great in 1962, stressing the importance of preserving the Thai language as a fundamental cultural tool. The video includes participation from the embassies of Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Japan, and the United States, among others.
