The American Embassy in Thailand has released a video cerebrating Traditional Thai New Year or the Songkran Festival, following the success of its New Year 2013 and Harem Shake videos.
The video, utilizing reverse motion video shooting technique, shows U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, Kristie Kenney, walking toward the camera while her environment appears to be in reverse in time. The clip signifies the counting down to the Thai New Year. Accompanying the clip was the song “Holding Hands” performed by Thai superstar Thongchai “Bird” McIntyre. The lyrics of the song mesh extraordinarily well with the content of the video highlighting the 180 years of Thai-American relations.
