RAYONG, 29 September 2014 An ammonia gas leakage from an ice cube factory in Baan Pae -sub-district in Rayong province has caused five factory workers to fall ill.
The workers experienced irritations on the eyes and nose following the gas leakage last night. Fortunately, none of the residents living near the ice production factory have been affected.
Firefighters quickly rushed to the scene to contain the spread of ammonia. The entire process took about 30 minutes.
The cause of the leakage was due to a defect in the opening and closing valve of a pressure tank that was storing ammonia.
