The flooding in Bangkok had led to a huge number of dogs and cats in Pattaya, this is according to a vet named Phadet Siridamrong from the Nernphlubwaan Animal Hospital.

He told our reporter that he has a total of 160 animals under his care in the crowded hospital and that since the end of September there had been a continuous flow of flood victims leaving their pet cats and dogs at the hospital.

He went on that he normally charged 120-150 for each pet but many of the owners had no money therefore he had no option but to take care of them for free.

The cost for running the animal hospital is now 20,000 baht  however the vet said that that was not an issue but that the neighbours were growing tired of the noise from all the extra animals.

However as the waters are slowly receeding he hopes that the owners will come back for their pets and not abonadon them at the hospital.

In the meantime viewers with any extra space can help by perhaps taking in an animal or two.
