BANGKOK, May 7 – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra today voiced concern over the country’s political situation and called on the anti-judiciary protesters to demonstrate peacefully.

She was referring to an announcement by the Radio Broadcasters for Democracy (RBD) to put more pressure on the Constitution Court’s nine judges tomorrow.

The prime minister instructed Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung to closely monitor the situation, boost safety measures for the public, and request activists to maintain public order in holding their rally.

The leading broadcasters said protesters from 50 provinces promised to join tomorrow’s planned major rally.

The RBD leaders said they will file a complaint with police to seek the dismissal of Charan Pakdithanakul, one of the nine court’s judges.

Actions against other judges will follow, they said.

RBD deputy chairman Charn Chaiya said Mr Charan would be the first judge the group wants dismissed and that they will collect signatures of one million people to endorse their move.

Meanwhile police spokesman Pol Maj Gen Piya Utayo said more than 2,000 metropolitan police are being deployed to prevent any untoward incident in the capital.
