BANGKOK, June 23 — Thailand’s Military Court has approved a request of the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) of the Royal Thai Police to hold anti-coup activist Sombat Boonngamanong for 12 more days.

The Court has allowed to detain Mr Sombat for 12 more days from June 24-July 5.

CSD police and military officers earlier brought red shirt faction movement leader Sombat Boonngamanong, also known as Bor Kor Lai Jud (The Polka Dot Editor), to the Military Court Monday morning to seek permission to detain him for a second period, after the first 12-day detention at Bangkok Remand Prison was over.

Mr Sombat was arrested on June 5 in the eastern province of Chon Buri for failing to report to the army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) as requested.

He was also charged with violating Article 116 of the Criminal Code and Computer Crime Act.

According to the report, Mr Sombat remained calm as he was taken to court this morning.
