Anti-PM rally in Bangkok stops at midnight

The demonstrations took place at several locations yesterday evening to demand the resignation of the prime minister including the Democracy Monument on Ratchadamnoen Avenue while some demonstrators gathered at Nang Lerng intersection and in front of Rajavinit Mathayom School.

Protesters against the continuous tenure of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ended their demonstrations at midnight last night (Aug 23) as political observers were watching out if there would be a political turning point.

The demonstrations took place at several locations yesterday evening to demand the resignation of the prime minister. The sites included the Democracy Monument on Ratchadamnoen Avenue.

Some demonstrators gathered at Nang Lerng intersection and in front of Rajavinit Mathayom School. They insisted that the tenure of Prime Minister Prayut that the constitution limited at eight years already ended.



Demonstrators took turns to deliver their speeches and warned followers to adhere to peaceful movements to prevent a violent crackdown.

At midnight, demonstrators did a three-finger salute, blew motorcycle horns, played music, recited poems and ended their rallies peacefully. However, some demonstrators stayed overnight at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon to make way for traffic to nearby Rajavinit Mathayom School.
