BANGKOK, 21 January 2014 Army Commander-in-Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha on Monday expressed concern over the recent blasts that injured scores of Bangkok shutdown protesters, asking the police to carry out its investigation speedily.

General Prayuth said the attacks on the PDRC protesters did not benefit the country, and there was widespread exchange of allegations within social media about the perpetrators of the blasts. The Army chief noted that officials needed time to make matters clear, adding that the violence in 2010 will not be repeated, because everybody has learned from the past events.

Gen. Prayuth also disclosed that he had talked with Royal Thai Police Commissioner Adul Saengsingkaew about the incidents, and had asked the latter to bring about the truth of the incidents for society. He emphasized he did not want to see the losses similar to those occurring during the Bangkok protests in 2010.
