BANGKOK, 3 December 2013 Army Chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha has warned the public to stay indoors during the nighttime as current protests might have tendency to become violent.
Army deputy spokesman Col. Winthai Suvaree reported Gen. Prayuth’s concerns on the protests becoming more violent as officials have already resorted to using teargas to suppress the crowd.
Moreover, the Army Chief was reported expressing further concerns of more injuries due to use of weapons being smuggled into the demonstration areas as seen in what had happened at the Ramkhamhaeng University incident.
To avoid the danger, Gen. Prayuth has therefore urged the public to refrain from going out during the night and stay indoors. Anything out of the ordinary, he said, should be reported to the authorities immediately.
