Lt Gen Santi Sakuntanark, Commander of the Fourth Army Region/Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4, has led a high-level inspection at the Tak Bai Customs checkpoint in Narathiwat Province. The operation, part of a broader effort to ramp up security for the upcoming Loy Krathong festival and New Year celebrations, focused on the Thailand-Malaysia border area.



The visit on November 21 highlighted the need for heightened vigilance against potential criminal activities, particularly the smuggling of contraband and arms, which tend to escalate during holiday seasons. Lt Gen Santi made clear the importance of strengthened security protocols, reaffirming the army’s commitment to intensive monitoring and control along the Thai-Malaysian border.



The Fourth Army Region chief and his team visited the Border Protection Company, Unit 4 to assess operational effectiveness, boost morale, and review the rotational patrols in the districts of Tak Bai, Su-ngai Kolok, and Waeng.

In a show of camaraderie and support, Lt Gen Santi distributed consumer goods to both Thai officers and their Malaysian counterparts stationed in the area, reinforcing the shared commitment towards ensuring national security and regional collaboration between Thailand and its southern neighbor.
