Bangkok – The ASEAN Secretariat and other ASEAN organizations in Jakarta, Indonesia, lowered their flags to half-mast this week in honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The protocol is in line with the ASEAN Secretariat Committee’s resolution and the revised guidelines on the use of ASEAN flag, which stipulate that when a leader of any ASEAN nation passes away, ASEAN flags must be lowered to half-mast for 3 days.
Thai embassies and consulates worldwide have been flying ASEAN flags at half-mast since October 13 and will continue to do so until this Sunday.
