BANGKOK, Thailand – Authorities in southern Thailand are monitoring the situation in Krabi province after a 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Nuea Khlong district on Tuesday afternoon. The tremor occurred at 2:27 p.m. at a depth of 2 kilometers, with its epicenter in Khlong Khamao subdistrict. Residents in several parts of Nuea Khlong, including Pakasai, Taling Chan, and Nuea Khlong subdistricts, reported feeling the quake.



The Interior Ministry confirmed that no structural damage or injuries have been reported. Flights and operations at Krabi International Airport, where the tremor was also felt, remain unaffected. Marine tourist destinations such as Koh Jum, Koh Pu, and Ting Rai villages did not report any seismic activity.

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered the Krabi governor and Nuea Khlong district authorities to conduct on-site assessments. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and the National Disaster Warning Center are also coordinating closely with provincial agencies to track developments and ensure the situation remains under control.
