Ayutthaya sets up a road accident prevention center for Songkran

AYUTTHAYA, 7 April 2014  -The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office of Ayutthaya Province is opening a road accident prevention center for the 2014 Songkran Festival.

According to Mr. Udomsak Khaonoona, Chief of Operations in the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office of Ayutthaya Province, a caravan of more than 500 cars from all relevant organizations will set off on 10 April, to promote the road accident prevention campaign. There will be cars from the provincial police office and the provincial transportation authority office, ambulances, emergency rescue pick-ups, survey cars and taxi motorbikes.

The campaign is aimed at warning travelers to drive safely and with extra awareness especially during the 13th to 17th of April when several hundred thousand cars will be heading towards the north and the northeast using Paholyothin and Asia roads. The target for this year is to reduce loss of life and property by a minimum 10%.
