PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA, 7 August 2014 , Over 100 Ayutthaya traffic police officers have prepared measures to handle the volume of traffic expected during the Mother’s Day holiday, from 9th to 12th August. It is expected that many mothers and children will undertake the 9 temples tour.
The Deputy Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, Pol Col Sombat Chuchaiya has informed the community that measures to handle the upcoming road jams have been prepared and set up for the 4-day holiday, from 9-12 August 2014. Since Ayutthaya province is located near Bangkok and is filled with historical attractions and temples, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has promoted a“Nine temples Tour” in the province. It’s estimated that 10,000 vehicles will travel each day to Ayutthaya and cause traffic jams in many areas.
Both inbound and outbound roads to the roundabout will be closed to lessen the number of vehicles. More U-turn spots are to be set up. Also, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon and Wat Phananchoeng roads will permit only one way driving.
